This unit offers a weekly seminar program which introduces the major theoretical approaches to representation in Western art, and is designed to assist students with theoretical aspects of their thesis or major project. The seminar comprises lectures and discussions led by the lecturer that provide an historical background to contemporary theory, and trace the debates and issues that inform current practices and theories of representation and visuality in contemporary art. -- Course Website
