This unit looks at some of the central debates within the discourses over Pop Art, investigating these debates and the art that it describes. Pop Art is a movement largely based in the United Kingdom and the USA, and beginning in the 1950s and 1960s, but has more recently been a major genre of art in Japan and other parts of Asia. The unit looks at some of the debates around Pop Art and its internationalism. -- Course Website
