This unit comprises change strategies used by social workers. The lectures/workshops and group activities utilise previous work covering social policy and community work. It looks at how social workers can work collectively towards effective change by linking individual experiences of their 'clients' to broader public issues of policy development, advocacy and community practice. To work counter-oppressively, social workers need to influence change at the broader level wherever they are working, as well as with individuals at the local level.
