This unit develops mathematical methods essential in the study of probability and statistics. Initial focus is on probability modelling, with an emphasis on joint distributions and especially those of continuous type. Subsequent focus is on statistical inference, emphasising a likelihood approach to basic statistical theory as well as practical application of the methodology. This part deals with statistical models, parameter estimation, regression, analysis of variance, simple designed experiments, and categorical data. -- Course Website
