This unit is taken over two successive semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit. Students can commence the unit in either semester 1 or semester 2.<br/><br/>The unit comprises advanced coursework in an area of contemporary nanotechnology or in an aspect of science or engineering underpinning nanotechnology. This coursework consists of a literature review on the topic of the research project and a seminar on a topic unrelated to the research project with an aim to broaden the student's background in nanotechnology.
