This unit is delivered by the Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health in partnership with the School of Indigenous Studies and is directed at people who are planning to work in Aboriginal health. It helps students improve their understanding of the position of Aboriginal people in contemporary Australian society, as a basis to understanding and working in Aboriginal health. Taught predominantly by Aboriginal people, the unit begins with a broad introduction to historical and cultural issues and how they have an impact on Aboriginal health today.
