This unit covers a range of topics, mainly at the organisational level, regarding the maintenance of health, safety and wellbeing at work. Topics to be covered include the assessment and the effects of the physical working environment (e.g. heat and noise) on performance and wellbeing; work design (e.g. shift work and other job characteristics, including demands and control) and its impact on fatigue, performance, and psychological strain.
