This compulsory unit introduces students to the assessment of individuals of all ages. Students are introduced to assessment for the purposes of client description, as a component in treatment planning (both the initial assignment and the ongoing modification in light of success or otherwise), as a method of assessing outcomes and as a way of informing management and third parties about the degree of success. Students gain an understanding of the rationale for, and ethics of, assessment.
