This unit introduces students to key issues and common research methods used in the study of human development. Major theories of development are described and evaluated. Ways in which environmental and biological factors influence development are considered. Descriptions of key changes across childhood, and theoretical explanations of these changes are provided in relation to perception, cognition, intelligence, language, social skills, emotion and gender. -- Course Website
