This unit aims to illuminate the operation of the Australian Constitution and the institutions it establishes by examining them from relevant theoretical and comparative perspectives. Its aims is to also provide an understanding of the ongoing debate—manifested in disagreements about the nature and purpose of constitutional arrangements—over preferred interpretations of the Australian political system and Australian democracy.
