This unit further develops key concepts and principles in human geography and planning by examining how sociospatial issues manifest within urban and regional contexts, and how planners and policymakers respond. It provides students with an opportunity to critically reflect on the core theoretical perspectives in social geography and planning, and how these have been applied in different geographical contexts. Students are also introduced to a range of analytical techniques, such as indices of spatial inequality, gini coefficients, and local demographic analysis. -- Course Website
