This unit considers how processes of globalisation are shaping spatial organisation of cities, with a particular focus on the Asia–Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. It considers the diverse range of cultural, social and economic processes affecting the geographical structure of cities, and reflects on the associated planning and policy challenges. The unit is particularly well suited to students interested in understanding the dynamic nature of global cities, and how urban planners and policymakers might attempt to guide their future development. -- Course Website
