Sometimes the world moves us, and sometimes we move the world. When we move some part of the world, then we have acted. This unit examines the nature of intentional action, our knowledge of our own actions and the structure of practical reasoning. It approaches these topics with a special focus on Elizabeth Anscombe's ground-breaking and influential work Intention. Students understand and are able to critically evaluate theories on the topics above as well as formulate and defend their own approaches.
