This unit introduces the basic knowledge of reservoir engineering necessary to analyse and predict reservoir performance. Topics include reservoir formation, classification, description, volume; pressure distribution in reservoirs; reservoir fluid properties; reservoir rock properties; capillary pressure, saturation and relative permeability; laboratory tests and other means to gather rock and fluid properties; basic phase behaviour, gaseous state, liquid state, single-phase and multiphase flow and well productivity; material balance equations; recovery mechanisms; water and gas coning; and water influx.<br/><br/>Students may be required to attend additional workshops, seminars or... -- Course Website
