This unit provides an overview of the normal anatomy and functions, and pathological states of the (1) endocrine; and (2) haematolymphoid organs and tissues. An overview of the pathological states affecting these organs, including aetiopathogenetic concepts, and gross and microscopic appearances of the diseased organs is provided and including clinical correlations. Surgical dissection techniques are covered including principles of tissue triage for specialised ancillary studies including for flow cytometry, microbiological studies, electron microscopy, cytogenetics, molecular studies and where appropriate, tissue banking. -- Course Website
