This unit covers the recognition of paediatric medical disorders occurring during sleep or that are related to sleep and which require a sleep study, the interpretation of quantitative information and subsequent diagnosis. Topics include definitions, obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, central sleep apnoea syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, narcolepsy, insomnia, hyper somnolence, nocturnal epilepsy, positive pressure support and paediatric issues.
