This unit examines why and how music can be used in therapeutic and applied contexts with a broad range of people ranging from children, the disabled, those with exceptional abilities, people with chronic health conditions, through to people in everyday situations. Using residential teaching and distance learning readings with self-assessing and self-reflecting unit materials, students develop theoretical knowledge and apply it to practical situations. One assessed 2500-word essay demonstrates reflective critical knowledge, especially in responding to ethical and methodological issues in the domain. -- Course Website
