This unit provides students with essential skills and knowledge in digital recording, mixing, editing and mastering. Lectures provide students with a theoretical understanding of digital audio, covering topics such as acoustical analysis, sampling theory, sound storage/representation and audio effects processing. In laboratory sessions, students apply their theoretical knowledge to several practical exercises working with software based Digital Audio Workstations. The unit concludes with a collaborative project, where students work together in small groups to produce a professional standard audio track from recording through to the final mastered copy.

This unit is an elective... -- Course Website
