This unit introduces the work of the clinical microbiology laboratory, placing particular emphasis on the contribution of medical microbiology to critical decisions. Current and emerging methods in bacteriology, virology, mycology and parasitology are covered. There is a strong emphasis on laboratory-based clinical problem solving. A substantial part of the unit is computer-based. Laboratory classes focus on the application of clinical laboratory methods. -- Course Website
