This unit is taken over two successive semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit. Students can commence the unit in either semester 1 or semester 2.<br/><br/>Students are required to attend a scientific communication course and submit a dissertation; the latter is the research component for honours in Applied Mathematics. They should approach relevant staff members for discussions about possible projects. Depending on the topic a student may attempt original work. The dissertation should be between 25 and 50 typeset pages, including figures, tables, diagrams, but excluding appendices.
