This unit provides an exposure to some of the many interesting ideas of pure mathematics and provides the foundations for further study. Topics may include prime numbers; regular polyhedra and symmetry; construction of number systems; famous impossibility theorems; Fourier analysis on the circle; contraction mapping principle; Heine-Borel theorem; Cantor set; topology and dimension; and fractals. -- Course Website
