This unit provides students with skills to develop and execute research projects in Lingustics and to communicate research in appropriate written and oral forms. These skills are also extensible to a broader range of research in other areas. The unit examines major aspects of developing a research project: formulating a research question in relation to existing knowledge; design of research methods appropriate to the research question; ethical requirements for research; developing formal research proposals; oral and written research communication appropriate to the discipline; and project management. -- Course Website
