This unit examines the legal duties and liabilities of banks to their customers and third parties in relation to the receipt and payment of money. It focuses on both paper-based and electronic banking transactions. A range of electronic funds transfer systems are examined ranging from customer banking transaction systems (such as ATMs, EFTPOS, home banking) to interbank high-value transfer systems (such as CHIPs, CHAPs and SWIFT).
