This unit covers the legal problems created by the existence of urban areas; cultural differences in urban form; models of legislation; analysis of local legislation including subdivision of land, zoning and town planning controls, density controls, development consent, appeals from planning authorities, and enforcement of planning. The approach of the unit is to relate the principles of the science of town planning to the development of the law relating to planning. -- Course Website
