This unit introduces students to the Western Australian and Commonwealth law governing the conservation and use of renewable natural resources, especially those used for the conservation of nature and the agricultural and forestry industries, namely land, water and biodiversity. It considers the legal techniques applied to the management of these natural resources such as the legal definition of the objective of ecologically sustainable development; private and public property rights; the administrative framework for the management of natural resources; the administrative processes of planning and management; and the creation of tradeable entitlements. -- Course Website
