This unit examines the legal relationship between an employer and employee in Australia. It includes a study of both contractual issues and Australian workplace legislation. Beginning with the contract of employment and focusing on the rights and duties of employers and employees, the unit proceeds to give an overview of federal legislation that has an impact on the workplace. Particular focus is given to national employment standards, awards and agreements, dismissal, workplace safety and industrial action. -- Course Website
