This unit is designed for students who have successfully completed Indonesian: Second Language WACE (Stages 2 or 3) or the equivalent. The main objective is for students to attain transactional proficiency in Indonesian. Students memorise model conversations based on routine activities such as visiting the doctor, looking for a house and being welcomed as a guest. They thereby gain practical experience and confidence in speaking as well as learning about social conventions. Students' listening and comprehension skills are extended by studying extracts of authentic Indonesian films.
