This unit is designed for students who have successfully completed Indonesian: Second Language WACE (Stages 2 or 3) or the equivalent. The main objective is for students to attain transactional proficiency in Indonesian. Students memorise model conversations based on routine activities such as visiting the doctor, looking for a house and being welcomed as a guest. They thereby gain practical experience and confidence in speaking as well as learning about social conventions. Students' listening and comprehension skills are extended by studying extracts of authentic Indonesian films. They are also exposed to short articles taken from the Indonesian media in order to develop reading skills... -- Course Website
