This unit is taken over two semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit.<br/><br/>In the procedural skills training program students receive training in asepsis, phlebotomy; IM/SC injection; IV cannulation; urinary catheterisation; resuscitation and patient handling. Students also participate in sessions focusing on medical documentation and learning in the clinical environment. The unit informs students of the facilities and organisation of hospitals and the roles of medical, nursing and paramedical staff.
