This unit is taken over two semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit.<br/><br/>The unit comprises a series of lectures, demonstrations and clinical practice which applies the principles of general surgery to that of exodontics and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Further development occurs in diagnosis, treatment planning, methodology of treatment and the management of the complications of exodontics and minor oral surgery. Other topics studied include the choice of anaesthesia, pre-operative medication, instrumentation and theatre skills, bone removal, surgical extraction of teeth, removal of fractured tooth roots, removal of retained tooth... -- Course Website
