This unit is taken over two semesters and parts 1 and 2 must be completed to fulfil the requirements of the unit.<br/><br/>The unit prepares students for community dentistry by teaching the concepts of health planning, health education and health promotion. The unit also covers the workings of the health system and dental services, community dental health programs, oral health care planning and special needs dentistry (dentistry for the elderly and people with disabilities).
