The unit provides students with (1) an opportunity to apply, enhance and develop skills and knowledges associated with a specific discipline—in this case Indigenous Archaeology; and (2) intensive training in archaeological field work. Students work alongside Traditional Owners, heritage managers and consultant archaeologists to document the rich archaeological heritage of the Happy Valley region using a variety of archaeological site recording techniques as well as developing an understanding of their discipline's major in the world of work.
