This unit introduces students to the application of science to a key public arena—solving crime. Students experience the contextual application of each science discipline to problem solving. The unit calls on the State's leading forensic experts including the police forensic section and the State pathologist. <br/><br/>Starting with a hypothetical homicide, the unit opens with the police describing procedures and protocols for revealing and handling evidence. The body is sent to the mortuary where it is first examined by the forensic pathologist.
