This unit provides a holistic treatment of the field of hydrology with a focus on process understanding in relation to the water balance. Focus is on understanding and quantitative description of the land surface and subsurface components of the hydrological cycle. Students gain an understanding of discrete hydrological processes through exposition of fundamental theories, combined with analysis and interpretation from observed data. In addition to lectures, assignments and computer-based data analyses, field work exposes students to field situations and approaches to in-situ measurements. -- Course Website
