This unit draws upon principles of structural and chemical crystallography, and phase chemistry to develop a systematic study of minerals and materials as an introduction to process mineralogy. The mineralogy of the principal ores is illustrated and discussed. Practical work provides opportunities to develop skills in the techniques of mineral identification and analysis, information access and communication. -- Course Website
