This unit provides an analytical framework for studying the economic problems of developing countries. It examines relevant micro and macroeconomic theories over a range of issues that characterise developing countries. Topics include theories of economic growth and development, demographic change, foreign aid and investment, trade and industrialisation strategies, poverty and inequality, microfinance, health, human capital accumulation and migration. -- Course Website
