This unit deals with basic econometric issues and modelling skills such as hypothesis testing and statistical inference; correlation; the linear regression model; relaxing the assumptions of the classical linear regression model; forecasting; use of empirical examples to test hypotheses in economics and finance; and an introduction to the use of computer software packages. Students learn essential econometric skills in preparation for the completion of their honours dissertations. -- Course Website
