The aim of this unit is to teach students the techniques that can be used to solve the problems faced by a typical public policy decision maker in the real world. It considers the main theoretical issues and practical tools that are required for choosing the right policy and/or project. The foundation for the unit is relevant topics from microeconomics, public finance and welfare economics. This includes teaching students how to use and perform cost-benefit analysis.
