This unit provides a strongly practical introduction to and training in research as it is practised in the discipline of Classics and Ancient History. Students take an active part in the communal matrix where research is initially presented and refined through supportive criticism and discussion. For decades Classics and Ancient History has run a series of research seminars every semester at which staff members, students (postgraduate and honours) and visiting scholars have presented their research in progress and listened to the developing ideas of others.
