Students in this unit undertake a program of supervised research on a topic negotiated with their supervisor. In the course of their first semester of work, students are expected to make a solid start on their dissertation which typically means completing a detailed chapter outline, a literature review and at least one draft chapter of their 12-15,000 word dissertation. Students meet regularly with their supervisor who provides advice and feedback on their writing and research.
