This unit provides students with an applied and contextualised understanding of an aspect of archaeological practice. Students are placed in two archaeological settings, each of which is outside their past experience and is in an area of interest and relevance to them. Particular emphasis is on matching the setting with gaps in skills. These settings include workplaces concerned with Indigenous, historical, maritime, and rock art archaeology including museums. Students are expected to critically assess their progress in a journal and in a major essay. -- Course Website
