Explores the impact of globalisation and international structural adjustment on women. The first part of the course examines different discourses on sexuality, rights, the economy and the state in Western, post-Soviet, Islamic and developing countries. The second part of the course considers various strategies of political mobilisation which impact upon women in differing international and national contexts. This includes examining the role of agencies like the United Nations as well as international non-government organisations. -- Course Website
