The Elective is an 8 week rotation to be undertaken by Year 4 students. Students are able to undertake the Elective as one eight-week block or two four-week blocks. Preceptors may be clinicians, scientists or other professionals who agree to act as a Preceptor for a medical student. A medical practitioner should be a member of the team to which the student is attached. Potential Preceptors may be approached by students directly or by a member of the School of Medicine on behalf of a student. Interstate and international electives are encouraged. The student will learn attitudes and professionalism from observing the Preceptor and discussing future potential clinical and personal issues.... -- Course Website
