Subject Area: Korean Studies<br/><br/>Using selected contemporary Korean dramas, films, songs and TV shows, this course explores language use and underlying salient cultural values in contemporary Korea. Promotes systematic grammar knowledge, which empowers learners at this level to continuously cultivate their Korean language skills. Special attention is paid to how transactional meanings such as identities, politeness, solidarity, and affection are exchanged in this language and what constitutes, and how to account for, strategic language use in contemporary Korea. -- Course Website
