Subject Area: Japanese Studies<br/><br/>By using the broad social themes of post-1945 Japanese politics, economics and cultural development, this course attempts to produce an alternative socio-cultural time line by considering how these themes were and are represented in domestic Japanese popular culture. By reading a number of set texts and other materials, presenting and undertaking a major project, students attempt to answer the questions, how and why was each theme represented in the popular cultures of the day? -- Course Website
