Subject Area: English<br/>This course can also be studied in the following specialisations: Creative Writing<br/><br/>The course will focus on Shakespeare's contribution to English drama. Students will study a range of Shakespeare's plays from different dramatic sub-genres (history, tragedy, comedy, romance, problem play) and will be introduced to a range of critical approaches to those plays. The course both acknowledges and provides opportunities to interrogate Shakespeare's exceptional position within English studies as a benchmark of literary excellence and a core presence within literary education. -- Course Website
Prerequisites: 30 uoc overall including 12 uoc in Level 1 English or 30 uoc overall including ARTS1010 and 6 uoc in Level 1 English
