This course represents a major research-based investigation into a subject related to the student’s area of specialisation. It should represent an original contribution to work in that area which demonstrates a high level of scholarship and an understanding of good research methods. It can appropriately be seen as stage one of a two-part project linked to Honours Research Thesis 2, but must be complete in and of itself. The work is to be closely supervised by a member of the academic staff.
