This course will provide an introduction to spacecraft engineering and will cover the topics of rockets and launch vehicles, orbital mechanics, orbital manoeuvers, interplanetary trajectories, mission design and spacecraft systems. Aspects of the design and operation of satellites will also be reviewed. Tutorials will include qualitative and quantitative analysis of relevant problems. Students will use Satellite Toolkit (STK) to complement the lecture and tutorial material and to complete an assignment. The course will include a field trip to the Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex in Tidbinbilla. -- Course Website
