This subject explores landscape as three-dimensional design. Through a series of related design exercises it investigates and tests conceptual, metaphoric, structural and technical characteristics of landform manipulation and material application. <br/><br/>Aspects of site grading, earthwork manipulation and innovative use of materials will be explored, including their experiential, functional and ecological implications.<br/><br/>The importance of landform modelling to the design vocabulary of landscape architecture will be introduced, alongside fundamental principles of drainage, levels, surveying and representation techniques. -- Course Website

Prerequisites: Enrolment into the 200- or 300-point Master of Landscape Architecture.
