This unit examines the medium and its materiality across a range of visual art practices including: painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, multi-media, and performance art. It considers trans-disciplinary practices and contextualization in place, space and time. It is a unit that offers in-depth analysis by concentrating on case studies. It introduces students to the critical dialogue around the medium and develops critical dialogue around the medium and its materiality. -- Course Website
