The focus will be on common infections seen in community and hospital settings, principles of microbiology and infectious diseases, antimicrobial use, and antimicrobial stewardship. The broad unit objectives are for students to develop and apply infectious diseases and antimicrobial use knowledge and skills in the care of patients, especially those with infections. These may be patients in the community or hospital settings.
